In executive session on May 30, 2007, the Committee on Labor and Industry failed to take action on AB 69. It is hoped the bill we be on the agenda again for the committee's next executive session.
There were two issues that influenced the committee to not take action. One was an Amendment offered by Rep. Nelson that broadened the educational requirement from an engineering based curriculum to any degree acceptable to the board. The second was a letter from a representative of the Wisconsin Technical Colleges who argued that graduates of 2-year programs should be eligible for licensure.
